Jenny Taylor, Director of Marketing for Market Street-The Woodlands, knew that the Market Street website needed a redesign. After all, the award-winning shopping and entertainment destination had many welcome changes and additions take place in recent years and she wanted to be sure their website reflected these changes. So when Taylor, met with the Newton Design & Marketing team to discuss their need for upgrading their current site, she wanted their website’s new look to be modern and sophisticated while offering their guests better functionality.
Following their meeting, Newton’s Chief Intergalactic Technologist, Robert Harmon and Aesthetic Visionary, Denee Lewis got together to discuss what the new site might look like. “After examining different layout options for their site, we settled on the slider component as the main home page element,” Lewis said. “It added contemporary functionality and a sleek presentation for Market Street’s imagery.” Lewis went on to explain that the background they selected was chosen for its elegant and organic nature, relating to Market Street’s style and location in The Woodlands. Newton designed the website with high end imagery, combined with creative copy and clean organization of information, making it an interesting site to visit as well as an informative one.
Also adding to the design of the new site, Newton included one more feature. “We wanted to keep the site fresh and fun,” said Lewis. “So the new site’s colors will respond in accordance to the hues of each season. The best sites combine beauty and functionality.”
On the technical side, Harmon was fast at work on the site’s backend. He knew that their client’s site needed improved performance as well as to offer users more information, better navigation and enhanced Interactivity.
“The folks at Market Street knew they needed to revamp their custom backend system,” said Harmon. “We knew that the most effective way to do that was by using Sitefinity, which is powerful ASP .NET web-based content management system.”
By using Sitefinity, Harmon was able to not only provide a smart and simple interface for their clients to manage their web site content, but it also gave them an extensive programming platform, allowing Harmon to seamlessly integrate backend systems, which together with Sitefinity, provided the backbone and driving force the client’s web site needed. “Now, when you visit Market Street-The Woodlands website, you are presented with award winning design, dynamic interactive features and a clean intuitive interface. “
